Follow along HRC supporters and let me give you my honest
take on HRC and the battle(s) yet to be and the big one at the convention. HRC is going to take this all the way to the convention and along the way pick up several more states and once there she will disclose what I believe is the main purpose.

No one has ever said HRC is stupid and none will. Lets go back to 2000 and the Florida vote. All the uproar about those folks, mainly black that was purged from the voter registration rolls, and all those that was unable to vote because their names happen not to be at the precinct they usually voted. To top it all off while votes were tossed out across the state after the election, a disproportionate number were tossed out in African American communities. "The people that I represent have died to have the opportunity to vote," said U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown, a Florida Democrat and an African American.

Now to the point of all this.By taking this fight to the convention, HRC is forcing Obama to become the guy who's against counting every vote. After the 2000 debacle, does Obama want to be that guy? Wonder how African Americans will feel about that?

1. That is a great point.
I had not thought of that--but it is a great strategy--and so very true.

2. It'll be something to see
if it happens.

And... she has said, quite point blankly, that she doesn't think the Dem party will want to be on record as not counting every vote. Just a few months before the GE.

Good call there, BenDavid!

3. BenDavid don't you worry about Florida I got it covered
We haven't been counted but we will be involved in the process. If not they will lose Florida. That being said, remember I told you Clinton raised the most donations of any candidate republican/democrat in Florida and she has a long list of donors in Florida. Our little grass roots group in Florida will work on them then go from there.

4. I agree that this is the most important point to put forward however,
Edited on Sun Mar-30-08 02:23 PM by anamandujano
they are already on record for yelling "rules" over votes in Florida and Michigan. They keep pushing forward the non-representative caucuses as equal to the primaries.

And when I say "they," I mean Obama, Kennedy and his friends, Reid&Pelosi&Dean and their friends, Leahy etc.

They don't give a flying fuk about it. The only possible thing is that more people watch the conventions than follow along in the primaries Maybe it will stir them. We will have the MSM against us though.

6. I'm not sure Reid is in the "they"
group, though. I live in Nevada. While publicly he's claimed to be neutral, his son Rory Reid, was one of the first political figures here to come out for Hillary. As far as I know that hasn't changed.

Now that may have been political expediency on Rory's part, and I believe Harry's been quoted saying something like "it will be taken care of" about the stalemate problem. But it was deliberately ambiguous. Can't claim any insider knowledge, but after all, he has to work with both Senators, so it would behoove him to _be_ neutral until the end.

5. Hillary isn't going to quit, and I just love the way she
laughs at the idea and the crowds cheer her.

Yes she will take it to the convention, she knows the 'rules' of the party better than anyone. Gonna be a great summer!

Obama and Co do not want all the votes to count, that should not set well with anyone.

7. I think the news today from the CA delegate convention was promising.
I read the AP report this morning from San Jose. One uncommitted superdelegate was quoted as saying, "I can't go there YET," about coming to a private meeting with Clinton superdelegates. Apparently, there are a lot of hints about which way the uncommitteds are leaning, and they don't seem naive or brainwashable. I think it will be a straight up, political decision for them whom to support, and it will largely depend on the way in which their decision is framed by each candidate and the candidate's supporters.

I believe if they are going to rely so heavily on the popular vote, they sure better count FL and MI voters. They are citizens, too!!

Also, watching Al Gore on 60 Minutes tonight, it was very obvious to me he is not going to run, he is not going to act as a "broker," and he would not accept a nomination. When he was asked about it he answered, staring straight into her eyes, without blinking. Clear, nonverbal signals. The man still looks angry, and he also looks a bit aghast at the audacity of some politicians who believe he would help anyone ELSE become President at this point. I admire him for getting through 2000 at all. What a horrific blow...
