Will there be any discussion of The Clouds here?

I refer to the artificial ones that are being laid down by jet aircraft almost 24/7 over a good portion of the Earth. Whether you choose to call them Chemtrails or Persistent Contrails, they must be having some effect on the weather.

What say you?

Other folks certainly get bent out of shape discussing them. We could call them C-trails and I can't argue that they are a part of the atmosphere. Just last week I took pictures of some that turned my perfect bluesky day into white lines then white haze.

5. "C-Trails" works for me, HeeBGBz.

It might even serve to mitigate the tinfoil aspects of the discussion (don't I wish).

But the trails almost have to be having some effect on the weather. Case in point: Arkansas experienced substantially more of them beginning in October 2004 than in previous months. Rainfall totals for October and November were way above normal. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

As recently as October '04, the appearance of the trails was a pretty reliable indicator of the approach of a rain-bearing system. When the trails showed up, you could bet on rain within 24-36 hours. So far in '05, the correlation has not held up the way it did (in my observation) from summer '03 until October '04.

These are just two among the many puzzling aspects of the C-Trails; anyone who tries to find out about them is pretty much on his/her own.

They can look pretty neat sometimes, whatever their effect on our planet may be.
