We were fortunate to have him as long as we did. He was 81 years old, and he outlived all four of his brothers. And he was 12 years and 8 months removed from a SEVEN-WAY bypass.

1. So sorry
the missing, it doesn't go away, the memories are clear and bright as if they happened just today. How's your grandma, Nannu, doing now?

2. She's doing a lot better.

Hardly anyone expected him to die before her. But she's now almost three months past her 81st birthday. Poppa died seven weeks after his 81st birthday.

A couple months after he died, she went into a nursing home. She came out a couple months ago, and she is doing much better.

3. We all expected my mom to outlive my dad, so in a sense I was braced
for that possibility. When it happened the other way around, it just yanked the rug right out from under my feet.

Do you think it was the same for you?

*hugs*

4. A year and a half has passed-
its hard for a parent to loose a son, mine was 6 ft.4" 230 pounds and 37 years old. Just had a physical and passed. One morning he just dropped dead with a stroke-heart-attack. The message I keep for myself is: the wound never heals, but just glosses over, to remain forever. Love will sustain forever.
