Poll question: Where will the Chicago White Sox finish the 2005 season?
The Sux currently have the best record in baseball, but the Minnesota Twins are hot on their heels, four games back. Where will the surprising South Siders finish?

1. Okay, I voted with my heart...
...AL Wild Card. AL Central Chapm will be the Indians.

My head, of course, knows better!

(Sigh)

4. The Bite Cox won't even make the playoffs.
They have no talent on their team. How are they winning????

Reality has to catch up with them sooner or later.

6. It's irritating
I live right across the street from Comiskey (I'm not calling it by it's corporate name), and I have to hear and see the fireworks every time they hit a home run.

I do have to say, they have had one of the easiest schedules in all of baseball so far. They have a tough August, which is when they usually fold, anyways.

7. I refuse to call it by the corporate name too
I either call it ComBitchkey Park, or US Bitchular Field.

I call the team the Bitch Sox (stolen from http://www.bat-girl.com )

8. Ozzie Guillen sure is a bitch :)
I can't wait until Ordonez plays his first game against the Cox. I hope he hits a game winning homerun.

Ozzie Guillen was calling him a piece of shit...etc. earlier this season. To the media, as well. At least we know someone on the Tigers will be extra motivated to catch the Sox. :)

9. I saw that
I thought it rather unprofessional of him....that and almost the whole team saying that the last three years they had a better team than the Twins...GRRRRRRRRRRRR

10. Good teams finish strong and don't choke!
But try telling that to Ozzie and his pals!

They had an awesome lineup last year. Lee, Konerko, Ordonez, Thomas for a little bit...

It just goes to show you that even with a bunch of good players, bad leadership can still bring a team down.

Do you know why they're called the "Bitch Sox"?

I'll vote that no, you don't.

;)

Currently 13 games up, wouldn't say anyone is "hot on their heels".

13. I call them the Bitch Sox
because all they could do was bitch the past three year when the Twins won the division...they carped about how they were a better team, but the Twins were "lucky".

It's not just you who calls them that - lots of people who hate them do.

But that's not the real reason they're called the "Bitch Sox."

Funny how wrong people have been this year, and the vituperative attitudes directed at this team, beyond all proportion, and all the memes that get parroted over and over again, even though people claim they thought them all up themselves.

Must be a reason for it.....

Nah...I'm not botherin'

15. I smell the yearly collapse.
But since they're already so far ahead of everyone else, they'll still win the division. What's great, however, is that they'll lose in the first round, regardless of who they play.

They have a great record and they have to be commended for that, but they shouldnt' scare anyone........especially without Podsednick in the lineup. He's their catalyst.

20. A thought...
Right now, in terms of quality, the case could be made that the White Sox are maybe the sixth or seventh best team in the AL right now, behind the Red Sox, A's, Angels, Yankees, and maybe even the Indians or Twins. They're riding their early season hot streak right now, and I would be absolutely stunned if they make it past the first round come playoff time.

I believe that once Scott Podsednick comes back, their winning ways will continue. He's a HUGE part of their game.

22. He won't help that much
Maybe there's a placebo effect to be had, but their pitching just isn't as good as it was over the first four months of the season. He'll help them a little bit, but definitely not enough to propel them over the top 4 IMO.

I've said all year that John Garland and Orlando Hernandez are not as good as their records indicate. John Garland has been pitching out of his ass all year.

BTW - White Sox will hold on & win the division, then get smoked in the first round of the playoffs.

From this Indians fan. Those last three games hurt, but as it turned out, it was the Indians who chocked.

Good luck.
