Any DUers that are dieticians?
It seems like every food you buy now a days have too much salt in it. Is there a list of foods out there with very low sodium?

1. Learn to cook
That's the best advice I can give.

2. Yeah, that's what I concluded too.
That is probably the best way to cut back from the sodium because only you know how much is in there...which is nothing.

3. I can give you this hint: buy nothing in a can.
My son is a dialysis patient & I do all his grocery shopping.

Reading labels now takes so much of my time, but something I learned quickly is no canned stuff - way too much sodium!

Also, be very, very careful of "salt substitutes" if potassium is an issue.
Most substitute potassium for sodium and this can be deadly for dialysis patients.

4. And potassium chloride is AWFUL
The best thing to do is just grit your teeth and learn how to cope with food that tastes like itself, not salt.

It's tough for a couple of weeks, but I guarantee you that after that long, anything you used to eat will taste unbearably salty.
