AJC poll indicates that 70% of U.S. Jews oppose the war in Iraq
Approximately 70% of Jews in the United States oppose the war in Iraq, compared to 28% who support the war, according to a poll conducted by the American Jewish Committee. The poll indicates that 60% of U.S. Jews do not agree with the manner in which the U.S. government is conducting the war on terror.

The poll, which will be published Wednesday, includes a special section on questions examining U.S. Jews' attitudes on relations with Israel. According to the poll, 59% of Jews in the U.S. have never visited Israel; 20% of those polled have visited Israel once, and another 20% said they had visited Israel more than once.

Of those who have never visited Israel, 49% cited the cost of the flight as the main reason, while 20% said security concerns were the reason, and 18% said they had never visited Israel due to "lack of interest."

Some 79% of those polled said that concern for Israel is a main part of their lives as Jews, while 19% disagreed with this statement.

1. I doubt this will stop the usual suspects on DU from
citing Wolfowitz and Perle and lumping the rest of us Jews in with them.

Happy Hanukkah!

4. I'm not Jewish and I just ran into your post while checking this group out
It is very true that some on DU paint with a wide brush. I'm Catholic and the majority of Catholics I know tend to be very liberal to moderate. These DUers seem to be very misinformed or very biased against people of faith, except maybe if you're muslim. I believe these are some of what we call "the extreme left."
