I've been tracing my family tree, and just found I'm a direct ancestor of Rashi, is that a big deal?

I read that it's estimated that 80% of Ashkenazi Jews are descendants of Rashi, but according to the information at Ancestry.com, Samuel Abraham Ballin is my 11th Great Grandfather and he according to this page on Rashi, <http://www.loebtree.com/rashi.html> he's Rashi's 16th Great-Grandson (or 18 generations after Rashi, I guess that's how it would be called).

So is this a big deal?

And does the fact that I was raised Roman Catholic and then achieved a high level of enlightenment after I converted to Tibetan Buddhism matter?
