16. Who is Jack Germond?
The seder was fine. At my aunt's it's almost a non-seder. Lasts about 15 minutes and then we eat. A far cry from my parents -- we don't start until 9, eat at 10 and then do more seder after dinner -- they can last until midnight or later. I'm so glad my folks always go to Israel now. Their seders are torture. I loved them when I was a kid because I got to stay up late and my grandparents were usually visiting from New York. It got kind of old as I got older, though.

All the cousins came in and there were lots of kids around. I still like them, but I get hungry and cranky. :) Jack Germond is a columnist and writer and was on the McLaughlin Group for years and years. http://www-cgi.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1996/analysis/bios/frames/cnn/germond.html

15. DeFrank is probably accurate in saying that
there is no way to separate Rummy and Bush. Bush giving Rummy a vote of confidence in how he went about implementing Bush's policy is a joke. He might as well be saying "I'm a great President, I did a great job in Iraq." It's self-serving.

If you want to start blaming somebody for the mess in Iraq, look no further than the Oval Office, and take a trip over the the VP's bunker while you're at it.

driving home from Corpus...damn I should have brought my digital so I could post pics of what the Armstrong ranch looks like (well, it's similar to what I drove through anyway) & you could see what "hills" look like in South Texas. :eyes:

ANYWAY, a caller stated that Rummy was dismissing what these 6 generals were saying now, because they didn't speak up during the planning that was done 14 months prior to the invasion of Iraq, which puts the Iraq War Planning timeline as beginning in late 2001-early 2002. Whoopsie!

on edit: My whoopsie now. It wasn't Rummy, but Tommy Franks who said that. link: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2227692

When my daughter was in school there and lived there after she graduated, it was my favorite time to visit. The azaleas grow like weeds in everyone's yards there. Here you're lucky if you can get one or two bushes to grow.

It was almost 80 here today. Beautiful!

She graduated in '99, but lived there until December of '04.

Then she lived in Flala for a year and now she's moved back home for the time being. Eventually, she'd really like to go back to DC. That became home for her.

49. I wish Barry Bonds would retire
it would help everybody involved save some face if he didn't break Aaron's home run record. I hate to accuse the guy of something sinister, but he's been so full of it on this issue for a long time. I used to defend Bonds until it came out that he said he thought he was just using skin cream and taking oil supplements to augment his diet. Topical steroids can come in the form of skin cream, and I find it pretty ridiculous to think that an athlete such as Barry Bonds, who is up working out every morning at 7 AM, who watches his diet and takes damn good care of himself, would use something on his body or put something in his body without knowing what it was and what it could do to a person.

78. Just stopping by to say hi.
I've had to be absent past few days, but have been keeping up with Keith.

Hope all of you have been having/will have a good Passover, happy Easter and whatever. I know I am sure enjoying the return of sunshine and flowers. First the forsythia, then the daffodils, and now the buds are bursting and the trees are blossoming. What a great time of year!

79. The daffys are just starting here....
I may have a small bouquet for tomorrow, provided I get up early enough.

Ah, allergy season will soon be here! Achoo! :)
