Hi kids, checking in.
All is cool. We think it worked. This hospital is cool. We must nationalize healthcare, pronto. The French totally are doing this right. :hi: Love to all.

I just voted in Ohio ...... Election reform issues ..... Governor opposes
them ..... he has a 19% approval ..... I expect them to loose ..... God this
State sucks.

6. hi, crispy
Glad to hear all is well. Have you bought any new fashion accessories or are you hampered by the absence of useful phrases such as, "Pink Fuzzy Handcuffs" in the French-English dictionaries?

8. Good to hear that things look
good so far and hoping they stay good. Hope you get some time in there to safely play tourist. Maybe you should document how good the care is so we could use it as an argument for better health care.

9. Finally I'm getting some good internet!
Edited on Thu Nov-10-05 01:26 PM by crispini
Ahhhhh..... a cyber cafe, yay! Ain't nothing better than le high-speed! I've been kind of borrowing the corporate dial-up account but have been hesitant to use it much since 1) I don't know how much it costs and 2) the actual proportion of working I'm doing is fairly small and 3) it's dog-slow!

Anyway, an update: Bad news: she's going to have to have it done again. Good news: another week in Bordeaux! Bad news: not sure how the old exchequer is going to stand up to all this. Good news: having had a half bottle of wine already, I don't care much at the moment!

Not much other news -- Hey, Wolvie are you back from your cruise yet? I was disappointed that your dream about Prop 2 didn't come true. Oh well. I gather that many of the other elections last week came out quite well, though, so that's nice. Anyway, it's very nice here. I am a little surprised at how, well, FRENCH it all is. :P Oh, and I actually saw some red and black furry handcuffs on sale in a store just around the corner. Not being pink, though, I'm not sure they're just the thing. :D

Hope all is well here. Now that I've found this cybercafe I'll probably check in more often. :hi:

Edited to add: Hey, any interesting new developments on the Fitzgerald front? Since I've been gone for a few days I'm sure I've missed something....

Abramoff is about to make bush's & repugs lives very bad.

He (Abramoff) also charged the President of Gabon $9,000,000.00
to meet w/ bush. And the meeting did take place ... check
buzzflash or one thousand reasons.

Ohio had another strange election and went against the national trend
of anti repug feeling and all the election reform issues lost big.
Even though polls showed that some of them would win big.

Au revoir mon peu de pain de péché.

11. Hi Crispy!
I'm back from my cruise. Yeah, I'm bummed about Prop 2 (and a few other things, check out last night's thread). :( All I have to say now is that if right-wing nut churches want to dictate what our laws are going to be, then they need to start forking over taxes!!! PAY TO PLAY!

Anyhow, I know where you can get a nice pair of pink fuzzy cuffs in London. On Carnaby Street (think Austin Powers), at a tourist/souvenir joint. When last I saw them, they were marked at £12.99. Le Chunnel or Le Easy Jet should get you there with no problems.

Sorry to hear about your mom's setback, but hopefully, all will be well & you can come home soon!! (yeah, it must SUCK to be stuck in France.)

12. Hi, Crispi
Nice to see you. I'm so sorry your mom has to go through the surgery again. Again, my thoughts are with you both and I hope she comes through for a speedy recovery.

Rove's assistant has to go before Fitzgerald again (she's been there two or three times already). Seems the call Matt Cooper placed to Rove wasn't on the call log. She says it's because it went through the WH switchboard and didn't come right to his office. Funny thing, though, there are other calls that went through the switchboard that ARE on the log. Things don't seem to be jiving for Fitzgerald. Hence, more questioning. She may see him "as soon as Monday." Go check it out on RAWSTORY.

Take care.

14. Update!
There has been plenty of shopping done, no handcuffs though. Shoes and a couple of shirts and so on. And some wine. We *are* in Bordeaux after all.

My latest theory is the French are actually all intellectual nerdy types. There are certainly a lot of talk shows and politics going on in TV here, although in another language. :D I am currently watching burning car footage, accompanied by music. It's very weird.

Mom's fine; the second procedure went well. We are heading out tomorrow. We'll be in London a few days and then home. I am really looking forward to getting home. This has been an interesting trip, but not exactly FUN in the FUN sense of the word. However, there certainly has been a lot of good food. :D I'm really looking forward to hanging out and doing the Countdown with ya'll!!! :D

15. Hey - before you go,
why not pick up one of those French Maid outfits? It might come in handy, especially in NYC. I'd love to see you make Keith blush. ;)

Good news, Crispi! Now, go give Tony Blair a kick in the ass!
