2. He wants a 9/11 Commission? For what?
I don't get it. And, don't we already have one?

8. A 9/11 Commission for the economy.
Which sorta makes sense, given that we're about to experience a financial 9/11 if someone doesn't do something quick.

But I doubt the 9/11 Commission got to the bottom of everything about 9/11, so...

16. Ah, that makes sense.
Because if he wanted to talk about 9/11, he could start by implementing the suggestions of the previous committee first.

52. Here:
here I grew up (Kansas) when something good happened you Waved the Wheat. To wave the wheat you stand up, place both hands overhead, then wave both hands from left to right and right to left. Ideally you are doing this with several others so in theory you are simulating a wheat field waving in the wind. This was the original stadium wave and the original in this case cannot be improved on.Wheat Waving
Most of the time you waved the wheat at University of Kansas athletic events specifically football and basketball games. I was born and raised a Kansas Jayhawker so naturally I waved the wheat a lot during basketball season and not so much during football season.

The idea is that we wave the wheat a lot. We wave the wheat for superior performance and effort. We wave the wheat for good ideas. We wave the wheat for meeting deadlines and getting things done. We wave the wheat to celebrate!

57. For O-high-oans, the equivalent is spelling out "O-H-I-O" a la "YMCA"
at all sporting events, during the playing of "Hang On Sloopy" (which is ALWAYS played at EVERY sporting event in the state).

Many children today have grown up thinking the lyrics to "Hang On Sloopy" are "Haaaang on Sloopy, Sloopy hang on O-H-I-O."

Place both hands around neck. Stick tongue straight out in front as far as you can. Wiggle tongue up and down. That's the Detroit Lions wave.

The arms go straight up and then are swayed from side to side like the tops of wheat blowing in the wind. You can the Wheat Wave after KU defeated Okla. State (sort of) beginning at 20 seconds on this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT58pDSVn4o

Why don't you have some ribs with your chicken and burger? Eat! Eat!

The trick was remembering to save some beer for later.

53. Welcome back, Bot
I'm glad that bus was southbound, AWAY from me.

I'm glad Keith reported on the followup to Passport-Gate. Some quarters were trying to make it look as if Keith whipped up a big story out of nothing. So what if an employee or two peeked at the passport files of a few politicians and celebrities? That's no big scandal, right? Uh, yeah, actually it is...THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT...but in George W. Bush's federal government, it seems such a thing is par for the course!!!! :grr:

nuh-uh, no way no how sweetie.....

Ya need full-spectrum lights for that and it has to hit your eyeballs...and aren't you supposed to wear goggles in a tanning bed?....at least 1/2 hour in the morning, every day....oh, ask me how I know this......

63. Hi, BorealAvenger!
:hi: But he loves doing it that way...and he does it on purpose.

Oh good, he wished Lauren Bacall a happy birthday...it was the least he could do after she claimed Countdown is the only news show she watches now!

Happy birthday, Betty! Did you guys know, she and Bogie got married in Mansfield...about halfway between Cleveland and Columbus.

87. and as I pointed out up thread
it's not cured or alleviated by a tanning bed...seems the light needs to hit your eyeballs & lying in a tanning bed requires that you put on goggles & close your eyes, which kind of defeats the purpose....

Keith should start giving money everytime someone on that campaign tells the truth. It would mean a lot more money left in his pocket.
