1. I'm watching on the 'span for now
I actually want to hear the people speaking rather than the talking heads, including KO. The women of the Senate are each speaking for a few minutes now.

Oh & btw, my last West Texas case got non-suited today---again, NO ABUSE!! DUH!

3. Good for you, Wolvie!
:hi: to you! :hi: Sha-Sha!!

I can understand why you guys would tune in and out or watch C-SPAN--they're just showing all the speeches without the punditry. But Mike Barnicle actually stood up against Pat and said he thinks there was no need for anti-McCain "red meat" last night--that the crowd was won over by the "Hi Daddy!" moment.

I was scared when Tweety was talking to Scabrous ...
worried we might have a "grudge match" between him
and KO after last night's priceless SMACKDOWN.

31. You know, I fit the stereotype of Hillary supporters not sold on Obama
except for not being Catholic. Go figure.

Anyway, I'm loving this crowd. They're lustily BOOING Pat Buchanan when he says stupid things like accusing Rachel of calling Hillary "psychotic." But Rachel is fully capable of sticking up for herself and does so to huge cheers!

Most hilarious moment of the night: They turn back to Keith and he tries to speak, only to be drowned out by a HOOOOOOONKING LOUD train whistle every time he tries to talk! It's like that commercial where the drill starts drilling every time the guy in the hotel room asks "Honey, where's my--" RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MSNBC finally gives up and goes to commercial break as Keith gamely adlibs, "Get on board, the train is leaving the station! Next stop, the Democratic National Convention!"

32. Hi ralps and Crook!
The meeting went rather well, I thought. I think people were able to express the situation in context, and how they really want me to stay. But the final decision, I guess, is with the bishop and cabinet. My DS said it's whether or not I have the energy to deal with it all.

So, yeah - so far, so good.

Hope you guys are doing well!:hi:

56. Just a drive-by KOEB, watching in my studio on C-SPAN
I hope Hilary delivers. These lead up speakers including the key note speech are woefully boring. If this is going after McCain, I think we are making the same mistake as 2004, we really need to fire people up and go after McCain. Did like that last line from Schweizer just now, 'drill in all John McCain's backyards, even the ones he doesn't even know he has', liked the Strickland joke about Jr. coming into office on third, and stealing second too. Not enough though, not nearly enough direct criticism and education about how dangerous McCain truly is.

That was wonderful. Made me remember why I almost voted for her in the primaries. She fulfilled everything we could have asked of her with that speech. Plus, it made me teary eyed to see Bill's unabashed admiration of her. Perhaps he really did want her to be President. He seemed very proud of her.

69. She made it very clear that she wants the PUMAs to cut the crap and stop being self-serving
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 10:18 PM by BerryBush
and that is a good thing.

The Harriet Tubman lines and the stuff about how we just can't afford "no way, no how, no McCain" was powerful.

Oh, and it's hilarious how Rachel has all those fans in the crowd cheering for her.

72. I loved it that she asked her supporters WHY they supported her.
Was it JUST because of her?

Awesome!

73. That was great. Plus saying that everything hangs in the balance
our lives, our childrens and our grandchildrens lives. Very strong stuff. We really can't afford 4 more years of the last 8 years. I'm not even sure we can afford 4 more months of the last 8 years, but that's a different story.

Something tells me Democrats aren't going to have to be 'underground' anymore really really soon.
Hell, I'm proud of Hillary. Kind of wistful tonight about the lost opportunity for that dream ticket.

74. Tweety to Keith as the train honks again:
"I know you love trains...I know you know exactly the caliber of that engine."

Oh, and Tucker Bounds is an ass.

75. Hillary did what she needed to do
and if Bill can back it up convincingly now, it's going to send a very strong message: The torch has been passed. For now, anyway, but perhaps for good. Cram the PUMA crap back where it came from. This party isn't going to let anything stop it from taking this country back. Anyone who really believes in what Hillary's been touting all along can't possibly think McSame is any sort of a viable alternative.

Mature adults don't do things as important as voting merely out of spite or as payback. That's a fact.

76. Who the hell is the idiot with the "McCain-Ditka '08" sign?
Idiots.

Sounds like the crowd is getting livelier and drunker as the evening wears on. The altitude probably is contributing to the intoxication level among some members of the crowd.

77. Tweety goes out to work the crowd in a way that would make Keith nervous
so he gets to watch from his perch high above. Asks them to cheer for whom they agree with. They go nuts for Rachel.

Guys are going nuts with delight saying "Keith was right, she hit it out of the park...bottom of the ninth...it was like rope-a-dope, she just wound up and hit McCain..." They explode in cheers.

Little kid says he's for Obama and they go nuts again.

Tweety finds a woman with a Keith fan. Keith, from his perch: "It's a good thing they used a picture of me from a few years ago." You know he's loving this, though, just like when Fox Sports put his head on all those billboards and temporary tattoos.

79. There are even posters from MSNBC with pictures of Keith and Tweety!
The picture of Keith is based on the Rolling Stone portrait with him holding the American flag. I love it.

The crowd is just so into this. They're chanting "UNI-TY, UNI-TY, UNI-TY." And they're having a great time booing Pat every time he says something negative and stupid. Including now, when he implies Biden's speech isn't written yet, but when it is, it will be "programmed," but Bill will write his own and it won't be "programmed." Wha?????

The crowd chants "M-S-N-B-C!" They are just having way too much fun.

81. Well, Keith and Tweety are signing off.
Note: They will start their coverage at 5 tomorrow afternoon to accommodate roll call, even though the potential DRAMA there is now gone.

Final closing shot: a zoom in on the face of an adorable toddler who had been laid to sleep in a little red wagon, pillowed on a shirt advertising Obama and Biden, blanketed with a Keith T-shirt. As Keith saw the image on the monitor, his voice got the sweetest twinge:

"Good night..."

Too cute.
