most surreal post-"Special Comment" remark (or at least I hope so)
It's Lent, so there was no way I could duck choir practice to see KO's Special Comment during the broadcast. My best friend gave me a ride home and hubby had just started watching the tape of Countdown as we came in. We sat around the kitchen table talking through most of the show because my friend needed to vent about various things, but when the Special Comment began all conversation died away so we could hear the TV in the next room. There was silence for a moment after KO finished and then my friend say, "so my mom's worried that the Chinese women who work in those factories packaging underwear for Walmart are trying it on first" and I just shrieked with laughter for minutes on end. After Keith's rather somber and painful comment, it was so unexpected, so trivial and yet, it embodies some of the ridiculous paranoia and irrational mindset that the Clinton campaign has been trying to spread, so it seemed an appropriate follow-on in its own bizarre way. I inquired if she'd asked her mother why the employees would be trying on the underwear and she did a spot-on impression of her mom, indignantly saying, "Well, you just never know what those people get up to in those factories, now do you?"

Just a little tidbit from Texas to start your day off weird. And KO? You done good.

:spray: Of all the strange/weird/crazy thoughts I've had in my life I will admit that the thought of factory workers trying on underwear has never, ever, crossed my mind.

Actually I sent him the link to this thread because, well, it just sounded like something evl would enjoy.

I wish he'd come here more often. Hold it. Based on his response, I should probably rephrase that. I wish he would visit here more often.

It's basketball tournament time and I'm going to be busy watching hoops for the next few days. The Nebraska-Missouri game starts in 9 minutes and will end about the same time that KO ends. Good thing I got the DVR last week.

Tonight's game is important because the winner plays KU tomorrow (which will be played during KO).

You don't see it because you're not using the new and improved Clinton mathematical formulas. This is the same math and formulas that project she'll have a numerical edge come convention time.

You Obama people are so negative all the time and refuse to the see the inevitability writing on the wall!

Check this out from a thread in the Texas forum:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=180&topic_id=50461&mesg_id=50558

The next step after the March 4th caucuses in Texas will be the senate district or county conventions, held at the end of the month. (SD stands for senate district. Populous counties, like Harris, which includes the city of Houston, have more than one senate district.) Apparently, Some People haven't learned the lesson of March 4th, to wit: we're going to need a bigger boat.

So, if they try to hold a convention in a building only large enough for 80% of the delegates and 100% of the delegates show up, are 20% of the delegates going to be turned away?

fwiw, I was the only one in my family to be inducted in such a thing. I've often wondered if my dad receiving his Masters in Mathematics the year I was born had anything to do with it.

Damn you genes! I was cursed, I tell you! Cursed!

32. Don't tell me.
First, you carried the slide rule because it was the easiest way to calculate, then you carried it because, I mean, who would carry a calculator in their purse--a calculator would be so big and heavy, and given that it would cost several hundred dollars, who could afford to??

33. No, I carried the slide rule in high school because not everyone in my
Chemistry class owned a calculator, so the teacher told us to buy cheap plastic slide rules and he'd teach us how to use them. And he most certainly did. The following year, I went to a citywide math competition primarily to take part in a team event but we were trying to cover all the categories so I volunteered to take "slide rule". Because I was a senior, they put me in the "advanced" category even though I hadn't been there before. And I won, not because I answered more problems, but because I didn't make a single error. I used to have a trophy for slide rule.

10. my reaction to keith is brave dude
and that feeling like duck and cover for bombs going off...this fear that something could happen to my media hero...

you know how the clintons are they won't forget and will look for something for years to get back at him...that worries me.

I just hope "NOTHING" makes him take it back though, now that he said it no matter what he is threatened with, it would be worse if he took it back or apologized.
