Are there any police officers or detectives in this group?
I was just curious. I have always wanted to ask questions about cold cases and whether or not civilians can have access to clues. I have always had an iterest in amateur crime investigation. I have never wanted to be a police officer because I am not the physically fit type, but I have always been curious about crime solving techniques and evidence from old cold cases. I am currently trying to learn how to program software. I would love to be able to create a program that would allow law enforcement nationwide or even worldwide to input methods and distinctive facts about cases and have the computer find matches. It seems like it would be helpful.

Off topic, but still an interesting idea. Are there enough of us in this group to split off into teams and play a fictitious crime solving game? The idea would be that one team would come up with some fictional characters, places and a crime and the other team would be the investigators. It would be almost like role playing. It could be contained to just one thread and we could have one team interview the other team about clues and try to "solve" the "crime." It's just an idea. Thought I'd ask.
