Not too long ago, I watched the 2007 movie about this case, "An American Crime." With Ellen Page as Sylvia Likens, to whom Page bore an eerie resemblance:

I'm a big fan of horror movies, and can cheerfully watch them with no side effects.

"An American Crime" is one of the VERY few movies that ever gave me nightmares. I could see myself in the same place as Sylvia Likens (even though I'm a grouchy and fairly big old guy, not a young girl). With no hope of escape.

After I read a little about the case, I learned that the story was even worse than in the movie (as usual).
