language resources on the web
hello linguists,
i am hoping you can help me out. i am the chair of a parent assistance and education group at my kids school. we are a very urban, united nations-like school where there are 30+ home languages. we have been offering some basic computer education, in the form of something called "learn to google nights". we let the parents and kids kinda slog around on the internet.
we are working on a couple of more focused activities. we want to do one night of language resources, and one of government resources.
so, who knows some good sites, or other tips? or primary language is spanish, followed by bosnian and urdu.
translations, or good info in other language. anything relating to parenting is good, but it doesn't have to relate to the kids.
or even just fun things in other languages.
there are a lot of links here at du for the government night, but if you know of anything useful that is in spanish, or whatever, that would be very helpful.
thanks in advance.

1. Try omniglot.com
http://www.omniglot.com

It's a site devoted to written language, but each language page has links to other websites, like on-line radio in that language, primers, translators or dictionaries. Check it out.

I hope this helps...

The Defense Language Institute's website. It has a lot of links and a few free online courses. BTW, I used to work next door to the server.

http://www.degreeinfo.com (not devoted to language learning, often has tips on finding courses and testing)
