Extremely cool upcoming comics releases:
Mew Garth Ennis series, The Boys, comes out next month...about a special-ops team assigned to monitor and, occasionally, assassinate superheroes. In Ennis' words, 'it's going to out-Preacher Preacher'. Artwork by Darick Robertson (who did Transmetropolitan with Warren Ellis). Six-page preview here.

And the next instalment of Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, titled The Black Dossier, is out in October. http://www.comp.dit.ie/dgordon/League/loeg0025.html

1. Dark Tower

although I'm not entirely sold on the art (from what I've seen, Roland is pictured as being sort of big and muscular, which is not how I imagine him at all)

4. I kind of think of him...
as somewhere between Eastwood and Henry Fonda in Once Upon A Time In The West (only not evil, of course)...

5. my wife
and I are big stephen king fans...she actually got me hooked on the DT a few years ago. WE both agree, that if a movie is made, Viggo Mortensen, would do a decent Roland...but we both agree, Eastwood in his prime, would be an excellent casting choice...:)

I don't know if they will ever make a movie of the DT series, but if they do, I hope they do a decent job.

6. I can see Viggo Mortensen.
Guy Pearce wouldn't be bad, either:

looks pretty good, has that nitty gritty western feel...I also think Sam Elliot would have done well also...
