never liked the dead girlfriends...thing...it happens in the movies all the time...girlfriend gets killed...hero becomes unstoppable engine of destruction...overused plot device used by lazy writers...

"Al Avison was a Marvel artist from the so-called 'Golden Age' of comics (the 1940s). His most notable work was on 'Captain America'. He was also the graphic creator of Marvel's weirdest hero, 'The Whizzer', a hero whose special power was incredible speed, which he got through an injection of mongoose blood. It is unknown who wrote the adventures of 'The Whizzer', since neither Stan Lee nor Joe Simon want to take credit for it."
