Has anyone heard of Ashes To Ireland?
http://www.ashes.ie/

I am thinking of having my mother's ashes (and mine someday) scattered over the old country.

1. It sounds like The Mundy Scheme,
a play by Brian Friel -- one of his best.

3. I don't think so.
I didn't mean to besmirch any good reputation this company might have. When you think about it, it's probably a good idea for a small business over there.

If it was me, though, I'd take the ashes over there. It would feel much better to be scattering or placing the ashes myself and if you locate a bargain fare, it wouldn't come near the price of a traditional funeral here.

If the thought of driving in Ireland scares you, you can buy a rail/bus pass at a reasonable rate and take local cabs (also reasonable) to get you where you want to go. Public transportation is first-rate in Ireland.

If you should get a chance to see or read the play, The Mundy Scheme, be sure to do so. It's well worth the price of a ticket.

4. OK thanks
You're correct. I would prefer, of course, to bring the ashes over myself. With my ashes, natch, someone will have to do so, since I will be over there in the form of ashes, lol!

Anyway, I am in the middle of attempting to get Irish citizenship, so this may be a moot point.

I will look for The Mundy Scheme. :hi:
