Letter to Howard Dean
First of all, congratulations on your new position

I am going to give you a list of things we as Democrats hope you
do to change this party and revive it.

The number one thing is to insist that every Congressman and Senator
quit saying the phrase "War on Terror" we are not at war with anyone, because as you know, only congress can declare war, and they have not done so,GW Bush uses this phrase to scare the American people, and almost everyone has used this phrase and they keep on using it, probably without knowing what they are saying, it only
reinforces the Republicans evil agenda in the Middle East, and it
supports GW Bush's failed policy.

We need a advertising blitz on the status of Social Security,
as we know it is safe, and only needs a few adjustments in a few
places, it is not going to go bankrupt, and privatization is the
worst thing you can do to it, that is why it is called Social Security. GW Bush wants you to believe that it is failing and will
collapse soon, you tell a lie long enough and people will believe
you in time.
GW Bush tells us that it is our money anyway and we should be able
to invest it the way we want to, if that is the case, then I dont
want any of MY tax money to go to Iraq, if he wants to negotiate that
then we can do it.

We need to focus on the Senate seats that are up for re election in 2006, get a candidate on our side that is extremely well known
and fight hard for them.

The same for the 2006 Congressional candidates, they are all up
for re election every 2years, if we can gain a lot of seats
then we can at least have a partly balanced government.

Finally, we need to never stop fighting, and start to take it
to the Republicans like never before, no more bowing down to them,
fight them hard.

2. what happened to REFORM ??
Edited on Tue Feb-22-05 10:22 PM by welshTerrier2
i supported Dean for Chair because he was going to reform the Party and give the grassroots a greater role in defining the direction of the Party ...

nothing is more important than that ...

all the things you mentioned deal more with strategy ... all good points but i think they should not be Dean's highest priority ...
