Wed. 3/30: I worked out today--did you?
3 consecutive days.... I'm on a roll.

Today I did 1.5 miles on the track (1.1 jogging, .4 walking). I also spent time in the weight room working on my lattisimus, triceps, rhomboids and pectorals

Today I discovered the steam room. I spent 10 minutes in there after my work out--even did some stretching while I was in there (is there any better place to stretch than a really warm room?). I'm betting my pores are going to be fab after a few weeks in the steam room.

So.... what was your workout like today?

3. yes, but it was kinda lame...
i didn't run yesterday as planned: had stayed up too late Monday night (resolving some things with my "ex" then unwinding on DU!) to run yesterday morning; stayed too late at Amy Goodman event to run at night -- www.democracynow.org -- totally worth it, but still, so this morning I dragged myself out to run the 3-mile track around Rice U.

guess I was still pretty tired from all the drama. also had no buddy to keep me going. ended up running the first mile and walk/run/walking the rest.

we'll see how it goes on Saturday - My First Triathlon! my goal is just to finish, but it would be nice to do it without walking.

5. legs and 45 minutes on the elliptical
Then sauna and shower.

Steam/sauna is good for you. Cleans out your pores, gets rid of excess salt, and relaxes your muscles. Just don't stay in there too long.

I feel so spiffy. I wish I had time to do this every day.

6. I wimped out because I had to visit my cat
in the hospital (she's doing well, considering) on my lunch break.

I shoulda got up at 5AM this morning and done some stuff at home, but I was drained.

I hate missing a day, but I have a feeling I'll be mising a couple more this week. I gotta come up with an alternative.

9. She's got kidney failure...
She was being treated for hyperthyroidism, but then all of a sudden her kidney numbers (Creatine level) just skyrocketed. They're treating her with fluids now. They're not very optimistic, but not wholly pessimistic either. She was supposed to have an ultrasound done last night, but they had a bunch of emergencies and I don't know if it ever got done.

I'll be skipping the gym again to day to check on her.

10. Keep your spirits up!
I had a cat survive kidney failure once and he went on to live many more years. Sending good thoughts!

11. Thanks
She was looking better yesterday than today when I visited. Not too bad, but not great either. They always try to put a good face on things (cats).

Unfortunately there were about 12,000 emergencies while I was at the Hospital so I didn't get to talk to the doctor. Hopefully I'll get through tonight. Ultrasound results *should* be in.

Thanks again for the good thoughts! I'll try to keep my spirits up.
