Ladies: PMS fatigue. How do you keep going through it?
Mine makes me come to a grinding halt somedays. Today, I NEEDED a nap. And often it makes me flunk out of exercise that day.

What do you do to keep going?

1. Go on a birth control method that stops periods
That's what I did. Now I only get 'em every few months. Still experience PMS when I get 'em though :-(

2. Yeah, I do feel
better on BC pills. Took Seasonale for a while and it was tha bomb!. But I am very limited for solving the fatigue problem though. Due to my family history, I want to switch to the hormone free IUD. So, looks like I'm stuck w/ the roller coaster for a while.

3. PMS is a bear
I really do just crap out of exercise when it hits me hard. Give what you can, and tell yourself it'll be over in a few days.

5. don't you find that method messes with your natural rhythms, though?
I'm wary of anything that would actually stop my period b/c it seems so un-natural and disconnecting of what makes us women. Only my opinion, of course. I know this is a controversial topic. I get cramps pretty bad, even w/ all the exercise I do, so they can be a drag sometimes...but I also try to keep the perspective that it's my body's way of telling me to slooow down and rest. They are literally and figuratively a great way of releasing, on a regular basis, what is no longer needed. There's a deeper connection to my body that is available to me by being open to my periods instead of shutting them down completely....even with the Advil that I have to take. LOL.

I'm curious, since you are skipping periods, do you find that the PMS you get when you do have them is rougher than usual? :hi:

6. It does... in a positive way
I feel less tired, less fatigue.

If I'm on my "normal" schedule. it's more than just a "time out" it's debilitating. While I wouldn't mind a day or two, I could spend as much as 1/3 of my life in fatigue mode. That's enough to have significant impact on jobs, relationships, etc. That's why I want to minimize the impact. I simply don't have the resources to spend that kind of time in self-imposed exile.

Some of us have it rougher than others.

4. I do the exact same thing you do. Rest is just as important as work out time
 seriously, sometimes when I'm actually on my moon I practically have to live on Advil I get cramps so bad. :(
