I started yoga last night. First time ever at age 60.
It was amazing and hard and easy all at the same time. Some of the people in the class almost appeared to be levitating. I alternated from stages of feeling like I was an elephant trying to touch my trunk to my tail to moments of feeling light as a feather.

I was certain I would be crippled this morning. Actually I feel pretty good. I'm about sixty pounds overweight so I am combining this with walking and Weight Watchers which I also started this week.

Any encouragement from seasoned yoga people is very welcome! :)

1. I'm impressed!
I've never done yoga per se but I've done some "yoga-like" moves and I know they're not easy. Good for you! Let us know how you're doing! :)

2. Bought my matt, strap and block today and some workout clothes.
At least I'll LOOK like I'm serious!

Thanks, I'll let you know how it progresses! :hi:

4. Good for you!
I love yoga.

Try to stay focused on your own practice. Don't worry about comparing yourself to other people in class. Do what you can do, listen to your body and enjoy!

5. My husband, who is 56, has been doing yoga for over 30 years.
A few months ago we were at a friends house & his seven year old daughter started doing some stretching on the floor. My hubby got down on the floor with her & showed her a few yoga poses. He was as limber as she was! The rest of us adults were in awe.

Right now I'm working on better consistency with my cardio & strength routines, but I know I should add some stretching, too.

Keep up the good work! I think it will only be a short time before you notice benefits.
