wrist exercises so I can regain handstand/cartwheel stability?

wrist exercises so I can regain handstand/cartwheel stability?
I used to be in gymnastics as a kid - not competitive or anything, but we learned real stunts. I want to get back into it, just for fun, and until I can find a place that takes adults, I plan on practicing up on my favorite mat stunts from back in the day. However, in the last few years I've noticed that where I used to be able to do cartwheels all day, now when I land on my hands, my wrists kind of crumple under my weight (and I'm not all that heavy). I've never damaged them, and they can tolerate things like pushups and headstands, but they hurt after a cartwheel.

I'm not exactly sure how better to describe the muscles/wrist parts I'm talking about, but does anyone know what I mean, and have any suggestions for ways to get them back in condition? I miss flying through the air and being upside-down :(

1. Wrist "strength" is usually dictated
by the forearms. I don't know if I'm answering your question, though.

2. You should try yoga.
Once you master the basics, there are many gymnastic-type poses to practice.

Here is forearm balance.



The crane.




There are many, many other variations. The hand balancing poses, especially, will strengthen your forearms and wrists. Eventually you will be ready to do handstand and the like again.

This link has several wrist and forearm exercises. http://www.exrx.net/Lists/ExList/ForeArmWt.html Under ‘wrist flexors’ wrist roller shows the item in Seemunkee’s post in operation. The basic site www.exrx.net has all sorts of info on an assortment of athletic endeavors.
