1. Got a new kettlebell, just inflicted pain
Did a bunch of swings, a tabata set of snatches, some windmills, side presses and finished with some situps.
Got to pay for the party last night and going to the pub tonight. I'll do some running this afternoon and maybe some more kettlebell work. Tomorrow is a rest day.

6. Tell me about the kettllebell.
It seems like it would be a fun way to add weight into my routine, but I am hesitent about learning from a video, and I don't think there's a class near me. Do you think it's possible, if you pay careful attention, to do the exercises right and not hurt yourself?

7. You should get the video or book
The kettlebell I got is from USKettlebells.com and is adjustable in size from 34 to 70 lbs. They also make a smaller one that is 9-25 lbs. If you want to give it a try without investing so much money you could try using one of the barbell plates that has a handle cutout. The 10lb plates work nice the 25s are ok but start getting a bit unwieldy due to size.

The most important part of the basic swing and snatch is the hip snap. Beyond that its normal practical lifting advice like not bending backwards and keeping your center of gravity under the bell. Oh, and don't drop it on your head. The basics are pretty easy so either the book or video from dragondoor should get you started.

3. Hey, Evil! Yeah, I swam a mile this morning.
There is still too much Christmas candy in the house though!

4. One more hour on the elliptical.
I've never watched the extended edition of Two Two Towers and I'm enjoying all the extra scenes. Tomorrow is the big attack on Rohan.

5. Yoga again.
I'm at the 25 class mark, yay! Once I hit the 50 class mark, my price for classes starts going down. So that's an incentive right there. :P
