indoor/winter exercizing
What are some good things to do indoors? I have been playing basketball this summer but now with winter coming, thats ruled out.

What is a good home gym or what else can I do?

1. If your knees are up to it, try jumping rope
it's cheap and not to hard to learn. A small weight set with an adjustable bench will provide a variety of freeweight exercises with minimal space. How much do you want to spend?

2. I guess I can spend up to $500?
I'd rather do cardio thou. The jump rope thing might be cheap...

3. You can get a good treadmill for that kind of money
or even aerobics DVD's to do. Others who frequently post in this forum are big fans of these DVD's. Jump rope is by far the cheapest, but tough on your knees and hips. If you try the jump rope, don't get discouraged, it's hard to get the hang of it. Good luck.

4. For $500, you could join a gym
Even less if you want to pay on a month-to-month basis (so that you don't have to pay for warmer months when you're more likely to exercise on your own outside).

Then you would have a variety of equipment at your disposal.
