Tues., 6/14: I worked out today--did you?
I jogged 1.6 miles (my knee just didn't want to do the other .4). Then I did 1/2 of my upper-body routine in the weight room.

I talked to one of the guys at the fitness center about the knee and it thinks the problem is muscular (given my symptoms). He's going to show me some exercises I can do to rebuild strength to get back to my regular runs.

1. You should really go see a doc rather than some guy
in the weight room. I plan to do 40minutes on elliptical today. I'll get back to you once I've done that.

2. I have an appt. w/ my PCP tomorrow
So, I'm not leaving the doc totally out of the picture.

The guy in the weight room actually works at the fitness center as a trainer, so he's not totally clueless. I figured to talk to him, and to my doctor and see what I can do to make the knee stronger. Honestly, I don't think it's injured, I just think maybe it's not very strong.

3. I did! Aerobic video, upper body weights & yoga.
The last few days I wake up pretty easy & have the energy to work out, but when I am done I am totally exhausted. I have to drag my ass to the shower, drag my ass to get ready & really drag my ass to work.
I thought working out was suppose to give me energy.

5. Finally back on track week 3 day 2
This week its 150 situps/pushups.
Did the situps this AM in 3 sets. Got 60 pushups down, will finish the rest throughout the day.
Now the question is do I make up the 3 days I missed, or just let them pass?

6. I did...
CIA 2K06: Cardio Step Attack Plus Body Strength, but I struggled. Yesterday I had an 8-hour graduate workshop course, then another class that ran from 6-9:30 pm. I'm exhausted! :-O

7. I commuted again -- still need to go home.
The ride to work was HOT -- but I'm actually getting more used to the heat now that I'm in it more.

My knee was also beginning to bother me. I had problems with it a couple of years ago and went to PT for it. Strengthening certain muscles really does make a difference and I think I'm doing that through cycling but may have tried to peddle too hard today. I plan to gear down and spin more.
