Good morning DU exercise fanatics
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 10:24 AM by MemphisTiger
My wife and I have bought a house. It has an attached garage to put my home gym in. I'll be buying a few pieces of equipment like:

http://www.thesportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1181596&cp=710956.710958.1170115&clickid=body_bestsell_txt

http://www.thesportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1262678&cp=710956.710958.694003&page=3&doVSearch=no&clickid=mainnav_browse_txt&pageBucket=0&parentPage=family

And building the rest like this site has:

http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/magazine03/homegym.htm

and a 300lb Olympic barbell set.

I can't wait to get away from the gym. It's starting to turn into a social scene.

1. Congratulations!
It's sure nice having all that equipment around (assuming it gets used -- then it's a painful reminder of wasted money! ;))

I just have a home gym and elliptical trainer but I use them frequently -- or did before I started riding my bike to work. I'll probably get back to it when summer ends.

Hope you enjoy!

2. Congrats, looking forward to you joining us
If you don't mind a suggestion. If your going to build a squat rack and some of the other things on that website I would just go with a high quality bench and not get a multifunction bench. I bought one and it ended up pushed off to the side while I worked out on the plain bench.
Buy extra 45lb plates and make sure the bar is 400-500lb rated. If your going to dead lift and squat seriously you'll need them soon.
Check out kettlebells too.
Here's a pic of my gym with homemade rack
As you can see from my lack of one it's a good idea to get a plate tree
