Church was amazing today
The choir came back from vacation last week, but some were out sick. The organ still wasn't working. Today, everything was fixed, and I swear the organist pulled out all the stops, literally. I always enjoy the sermons, but my particular favorite priest is a woman nearing my age. (I'm 60.) While I was doing my altar guild thing between services, I caught her alone for a few minutes and got to ask her about her journey from athiest to Christian. It sounds as if I'm following a similar path.

The service was so beautiful, and I got to be in the choir, more or less. What a wonderful feeling.

I don't want to be a blathering idiot about my church with the world at large, but I knew I could come here and spill. Thank you all, and as we say at St. Paul's, "May the peace of God be with you."

2. Thanks
It really is an amazing feeling to be there. It wouldn't be nearly so wonderful if I weren't doing altar guild. I love having a part in the service and the fellowship with the other altar guild members.

Our new rector starts a few days after my spine surgery, so I'll miss his first service (and the blessing of the animals, darn it!). But, one of the members is going to give me a ride to one of the small dinners to welcome him. The kindness here is so abundant and natural. Of course, as soon as I'm driving again, I'll be helping out wherever I can.

3. Sending prayers your way for your surgery.
May you have a complications-free event, and may you recover speedily so you may rejoin your new family ASAP. O8)

4. Many thanks
I have many people praying for me. It's very comforting.
