I just tried to make reservations for General Synod,
and every single hotel claims to be full. I really didn't think that making reservations in mid-March for June dates was procrastinating (and I know procrastinating!). The UCC site says not to make reservations through the hotels directly, or expedia, or whatever. But I just checked expedia, and they can get me in to two of the hotels. Hmmm, what to do. What to do...

Anyone else going? Want to share room (if I can find one)?

1. For something this big, in a city that small, yeah, you kind of procrastinated.
What you should do is get your youth group together, and go do the mission trip in conjunction with Synod - then you get housing. And it's only like $550.

4. I just booked a room in the Downtown Days Inn,
Edited on Wed Mar-25-09 01:11 AM by Critters2
which is one of the contracted hotels, for $10 less than the GS rate--through Expedia. I don't know why ucc.org emphasizes not registering directly through the hotel or other means, but they really emphasize this. So, if there's a tear in the time/space continuum, you know who to blame.

And, that part of me which always needs to worry about something is concerned about the fact that this hotel is the only one on the UCC site that actually says, even before you start booking a room, that it has no availability. But Expedia seems to think I have a room.

On edit--the part of me that worries just called the hotel corporate reservations 800 number to make sure I have a reservation. I do. The guy said "You're lucky. You got the last available room."

'Night! :hi:
