If Obama turns out to be the antichrist...
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 12:05 PM by Kire
...I will be the first one to "resist", or whatever, if that's what needs doing.

But, for now, who even cares? There is a nice lady in a Christian Book store where I live who is looking forward to Christ returning. She can't wait. And the Bible says the Antichrist has to come first. So, if he is, it could be a good thing. If he isn't, it sounds better than the other option to me.

If you're a true Christian, what's the difference?

3. I'm not sure...
Maybe I'm wrong about something...

I could have been a little ironic when I thought of it, but I remember definitely being serious as well.

Do you have a specific question about it?

4. No, because

whatever your point was in the OP is obscured by over-ironical-ness. :7 There's no "there" there.

5. I don't think the antichrist will come with words of hope and unity.
I think that words of fear, division, and hatred would be his/her style.
Oh, wait - we've already had that, haven't we?

7. The other day I heard a lady say she heard them on the radio talking about him being the antichrist
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 07:19 PM by notmyprez
I think she either believed it or at least gave it enough credence to wonder about it. I couldn't believe it when I heard her! I saw that McCain ad that implied it, but I don't live in fundie-land and was surprised to hear that it got any play around here. Unfortunately, I was in the middle of some work in the next room so I didn't have a chance to go in the room and disabuse her of that notion.

8. He is the antichrist. Trust me. We in the UCC have been planning this for decades.

In fact, we're so close to being the evil world dominators, after only dreaming of it for so long, that now we're all poring over our "evil world domination" handbooks. There's much to do!!

12. I don't think he officially becomes the anti-Christ until your Prudential
and my Trustees ratify it. My Trustees are all about world domination. So, please ask your Prudential to get off their asses and vote already! Thank you.

11. I always took Revelation to be allegorical, so I'm not too concerned about that.
Besides, I'm an amillenialist. If I'm wrong, I'll deal with it then.

15. What does it matter?
I have a lot of Christian friends who are all pissed that Obama got elected b/c he's definately the anti-Christ (to them). So, why should they care if he is (which he so isn't - it's all a bunch of bunk) then they should be happy that the "prophesy" is playing out the way God intended.
I believe that Revelations wasn't meant for us - it was for the 1st century christians.
