Anyone interested in a bible study group? I'm interested in reading
the bible with a group of people and discussing it from an open minded perspective.
I wanna analyse, apply to current events, science etc. I really wanna get into it.
I want to learn an investigate and ask questions. Questions that I think would be too
tough for a local church bible study group to hear. Any one have any place I can go
on the web for bible study lesson plans? Any one interested?

1. I think that could be quite cool!
We could probably even do it here on DU.

5. I'm interested.
I go to Bible study at my church, a UCC church, and it is a good group, tolerant of different views. The problem is, I'd prefer to have a group with a more intellectual bent. My minister is just about the only one in our group with whom I can have that level of discussion. The kinds of thoughts and questions that I come up with don't occur to anyone else in the group.

7. That'd be neat
After all, us Catholics don't read the bible; therefore I'd be seeing the error of my wayrs.

9. I'm about to start EFM at my church
For those of you unfamiliar with Episcopal acronyms :-) EFM is "Education for Ministry," a four-year, once-a-week course in Bible, church history, and theology that comes highly recoommended by everyone I know who has taken it. I considered starting it in Portland, but I knew I was probably going to leave town, so I refrained. Now I'm going to start it on January 8.

11. Oh no, I'm a preacher's kid, so I've seen the job from the inside
I know where my strengths and limitations are. Any parish that had me leading it would soon fall apart. :-)

14. I would probably be interested

I haven't seen a bible study from a liberal bent since, Bill Moyers' Conversation on Genesis and Frontline: From Jesus to Christ. I loved, Loved, LOVED both of those shows.
