I met the Rev. Mpho Tutu (Desmond Tutu's daughter) yesterday!
http://www.interlog.com/~saww/2004Mpho.html

She gave the sermon at St. Mark's Cathedral and I got to speak with her afterward. It was a real thrill for me, as I've always so admired her father.

Her sermon was about inclusion and caring for people of all backgrounds. It was a great sermon. I can't do it justice, so I'll post a link when it makes it onto St. Mark's' website. :)

1. How cool!!
I'm anxiously waiting to read that sermon.

If I may be so bold: I believe women preachers are the prophetic voices of today. No offense to the men - but women have something to say that has been silenced for far, far too long.

3. I think it's so cute when women preach!

It's just adorable! The women all dressed up in their robes and stoles with their "sermon" at hand...

Simply precious!! Just like when the children's choir sings. Precious! I just wanna squeeze their cheeks on the way out and say "Well done... well done! Yes it was! Yes it was!! That was sooo well done!"

You realize, of course, I'm being sarcastic. I like to tease the women clergy (all of whom are good preachers) I know this way.

4. I've got to dig out an article given to me by my advisor at Duke.
Something called "6 inches of exposed skin."

Trust me, you'd love it. :)

7. I loved that!
Especially when she said "they didn't know his voice, or know that he was the King of kings, they just fed him, clothed him...."

Thanks so much for sharing this sermon! :hi:
