Rascist comments about Eva Longoria with no makeup pic
http://www.thesuperficial.com/2006/07/11/eva_longoria_really_really_nee.html

I am so disgusted with the comments being made about her being "Mexican" She is an American.

She is Tex-Mex like me. This is just unacceptable.

2. Yet another attempt to
put a woman that seems to be obtaining a lot of attention, in her place. :eyes: It sickens me. It's easier for them somehow if they can think of her as a Mexican--and put her in that box, to not see her as vital, attractive or talented. So dismissive and so unnecessary.

:(

3. I haven't read the comments yet but to me she's still cute without

the makeup. She looks more natural.

edited to add: Okay, I went as far as comment twenty something. Not one of those comments made any sense. They sound like a bunch of 14 year old teengers bored during the summer and have to rank on somebody. And I wonder what the people look like that are calling her ugly.

And I don't understand when some people are a light brown as Longoria, they act like it's too dark. Isn't that the shade that a lot of pale people strive to get to? It really makes no sense to me!

4. A woman I used to know...
used to ask me if she could have my color. I'm light or have a olive complexion and skin tone--I even have freckles. She being caucasian with more ruddy coloring, couldn't tan at all. She would burn. (I've heard the same comment from others that are white, and envious of my 'natural tan.' haha)

Btw, the woman I spoke of is no longer a friend because she would say things like this and didn't get that some of her comments were rather insensitive.

I just thought I would share to prove your point. :hi:

7. One of my college roommates was asian
She said she wished she had my (textured) hair because hers wouldn't hold a curl.

I think she's the only person I've EVER met who said she wished she had kinky hair }(

I wasn't offended by that at all....you could have knocked me over with a feather :D

offended by that. She was genuinely complimenting you on something she envied and probably did sincerly wish she had.

I have to be honest in that initially when the woman told me she envied my "coloring" I didn't think a thing of it, I wasn't offended at all. I took what I thought to be a compliment and moved on.

Over time, as I got to know her better...and other stuff started to "slip out" :eyes: THEN I realized it was appropriate to be offended. :P

9. People envy my lack of sunburn
and I never think anything of it. I never envy my pigment-challenged friends when they get all red and their skin peels. And I love my naturally thick Indian hair. Lots of women like it. Sometimes it gets annoying when women I don't know feel it's OK to run their fingers through my hair without asking.

6. Well, I think she looks hot in the picture.
She looks like the student in the 3rd row of your Macroeconomics 334 class that you wouldn't mind grabbing a coffee with after the lecture.
