What would you say are the most interracially friendly states/cities?
Just wondering. Looking to move out of FL in the next 4 years or so. We are giving ourselves a chance to

get some equity in our house and do some good research before making a desicion. Any information is

welcome. Thanks! :hi: :loveya:

How far are you willing to go...?

You also may want to check a few of the other threads in this forum about where other couples live presently.

Here's one:

4. New Mexico
We started out interracial in 1598, and nobody could care less until the U.S. occupied New Mexico in 1850 and brought racist attitudes. But at the core, to be interracial is to be New Mexican. I inherited the light Spanish complexion and hair, but I've found lots of Native American, and Afro-Hispano ancestors in my Hispanic family tree.

6. Paris, France
We live in Chicago, but have been on a great vacation the past three weeks. Two of them have been in France, Paris for 10 days. We LOVE it here and have seen more interracial couples here in 10 days than we have 10 years in Chicago.

Obviously, this isn't a legitimate option for most people, but I highly encourage each of you to go to Paris and see what it's like to live where diversity is celebrated.

Chicago is not a bad option especially if you live in the right areas (Oak Park, Evanston, South Loop, West Loop, Bucktown/Wicker Park.

8. I'm thrilled to hear of the diversity in France...!
...I've long wanted to visit, and even thought that at some point if things got too bad here, we could move there. Then the racial riots of last summer occured and I was confused... But I'm very pleased to here that the population of interracial couples is high! :woohoo:

When I lived in Chicago, I lived on the north side (an El stop from Evanston). Every single guy that expressed interest in me when I lived there was of another ethnicity, which surprised me (pleasantly)--this was before I was married, of course!

...97%+ white MAINE! Our quilt of many colors is more accepted and welcome here than in the Philadelphis Suburbs.
