I'm not sure what to make of this
Edited on Wed Mar-09-11 02:08 PM by pscot
A friend of mine has put together this web site. She calls it a platform, and she seems to be quite pleased with it. I,m going to be asked to comment, but I'm clueless when it comes to evaluating stuff like this. I'm not even clear on what she's trying to do. If you have a minute or two I would value your opinions. Here's a link.

1. Great site, just a few comments
I would make it clear that the design of the site is pretty good. It is not too cluttered, the color scheme is good, graphics all match and seem appropriate to the service. It's very well done. I just have a few suggestions:

1) The font size at the top is too small. Maybe the site was created on a laptop where the font looked bigger. It's a dimensional challenge, since the text needs to fit in that small space, but since it is promotional text it should be bigger.

2) Since you do not know what she's trying to do, the mission statement of the company should be a little clearer. As a rule of thumb, someone should be able to look at a homepage and know within 2 seconds what the business is trying to sell. People tend to look at a page for 2-3 seconds before clicking away.

3) The Register Now link is confusing. What am I registering for? It looks like she does video production. If it is online video editing any user can perform, I'd suggest a demo or trial page where people do not have to register and can see what it does.

Again, it looks great, just need some kind of better clue what the site is for exactly...
