Help me, Please! Newbie question.

I'm learning html and css from scratch. I wanted a little pizazz on the homepage and got this software called Magic Flare, that creates very cool Flash text effects. I'm able to use the program all right, but when it comes to inserting the files into my homepage, no video/movie or what's called an .swf files shows up; just this - 83 600 13 0 48 150 100 100 59 15 False True False False True False 5510913 0 137 15117158 Movie1.swf C:\Program Files\Magic. Please help me figure out how to run the animation on my homepage. Thanks for your time.

1. Did you upload the file to your server?

Does your server program have a feature to insert .swf files? Where's your web site hosted?

No such insert feature, only had instructions for saving and exporting.

Is it exporting a file and a separate .html file with it?

You will need to copy everything <embed> to </embed> into your homepage and make sure the link to your .swf file is correct (not on your computer, but somewhere on your webhost)

4. Wow, I just happened to come by

and shocked to get another reply. Yes, .swf file has definitely been on my computer and not the host. I'd basically given up hope and am grateful for your response and ready to give it another go. :hug:

Though not quite done and haven't figured out alignment in IE yet, I've got my site pretty much how I want it - http://www.deboe-art.com/ best in Firefox.

It's been a serious slog of a learning experience, but the going was easier knowing there's lots of help here.
