How do you guys feel...
...about computer generated art?

I would like to join this group, but alas, I am not that artistic. My talents are with computer generated space art, only. I can't draw to save my life, although I would like to learn.

So if there is room for us geek artists, then I wanna be here. :)

1. There is a Graphics Group, for more computer oriented stuff...

Other than that, I see CG as art, as well a photography, animation, film and a whole mess of other things.

Art is not limited to the media in which it is presented in, but in the intention of the artist.

3. Thanks Pat, even tho I'm a more "hands on", crafty artist...
Doesn't mean technology should be excluded in the argument as to what art is.

Think of multimedia artists of the early to mid century. They introduced ideas and forms that pushed the limits of their time...

I say, bring it on!

4. I agree with Longgrain also...
it's the intention of the artist that matters, but I'm biased - I'm pretty much the same way. I can't draw or paint or anything freehand, but I've been told some of my CG works are not too bad. I've never really studied art, so my style is kind of self taught (meaning strange). I love taking a sound bite or concept and building an image around it. Anyway, I look forward to seeing your work, either here or in the graphics group.
