2. For still life, I see too few elements in each composition.
To give an example, I'd like to see perhaps a cultivating claw, tines upward and partially hidden by the pillow. For the second composition, a glass of water would enhance your concept better than the wavy lines, but they'd emphasize the idea as well and give you a great exercise in painting water realistically. In the third composition, I'd like to see the addition of a broken sea shell off to the side of the picture.

Feel free to send me om my way with a cuffed ear as you continue to pursue your unique vision.

Where in Texas? I graduated in 1968 from East Texas State University now known as Texas A & M at Commerce.

3. I'm not sure what you're talking about.
The pillows themselves are the artwork, not the setting. That is just a photoshoot like you would put in a catalog. The pictures are to display and sell the pillows. It's not supposed to be a still life composition.

The jade plants are there for the soothing green and cool colors.

Now if the glass of water and garden tool & shell are to relate to the nature of the pillow, as a related prop in a photoshoot, that would make sense.

Anyway, can you look at them differently now? I guess you're just looking at the whole picture, and that's good too.

I'm glad you like Kali Durga stomping on Ken Lay. People laugh when they see it, if they know who Durga is. Hope you read the background on the exhibit I created it for.

I have made jewelry too (stringing beads not fabricating) and I should put them on the website to sell them.

I'm in Grapeland. I moved here last fall from Houston and boy is this redneckistan!!
I do lots of gardening which is good for me. However, everybody invites you to their church, and are baffled when I don't go. No social life around here besides church.

4. The whole confounded south is Redneckistan. It's discouraging
at times. It's always discouraging.

I finished college in east Texas and know exactly what you're talking about, but my instructors were from elsewherre and one of them introduced me to that delightful stuff called seven and seven. It was nectar of the gods at the time.

I've done a bit of bead stringing myself. I also make earrings from bottle caps. I sell them via the local gift shop of the Better Business Bureau.

I am now 67 and retired. At the moment I'm recuperating from my fourth heart attack in a nursing home in northwest Arkansas.

Best of luck and much success in your life.
