3. Terrific shots
I still have no clue what to put in. I remember that intersection WJMS. The Woolworths is a neat arts and crafts gallery. I spent some time in there in July enjoying the art and cooling off from the 90+ degree weather.

6. los anchorage
one of my favorite places.. I love anchorage and alaska. we went up there one christmas to see if we could handle it if we decided to move there. (this was 10+ years ago when cold didnt bother me). while we loved it we couldnt take the lack of light. 9am sunrises and 3:30 sunsets where to much. but weve been there 5 times and may be back next year. im thinking katmai park and brooks lodge or something similar either that or a small ship trip up the inside passage

I've never been to Katmai, but I would love to go sometime. I've lived here since 1975, but there's so much of the state I haven't seen (not owning an airplane). It's only been in the last three or four years that we've even been out to the west coast, Nome for the Iditarod finish. And Kodiak a couple of years ago. We're going to try to make it down to Southeast next spring. It's just expensive to travel here, so we mostly stay on the road system, which, as you know, is severely limited.

I really want to get over to Katmai to see those bears one of these years.

13. we've explored a lot of alaska
took a big ship cruise up the inside passage, drove the dalton from prudhoe to fairbanks, went camping on kenai and in denali, went skiing at alyeska and took a small ship criose thru the aleutians from anchorage to dutch harbor and then up to nome.

20. Thanks.
It's kind of a local joke. With Anchorage being the only "real" city in Alaska (sorry, Fairbanks and Juneau, but I consider you "towns"), you'll often hear more rural Alaskans refer to Anchorage that way. And it actually kind of fits, since we're in a bowl much like Los Angeles is, on the coast and surrounded by mountains.

8. Very interesting shots!
Great takes on the old hometown.

I haven't be in my current location long enough to have explored it fully. Haven't had the time, really.

10. I really like the colors in Johnny Noshoes image. Cassandra
your image made me flash back to the black dress on Jonatha Brooke's first solo album, "Plumb."

22. I'm really loving the submissions!
I went out today...it rained. I wanted to try and get this one corner here. I'm new to the town and haven't really explored the downtown area...but this one corner I have passed just screams Springsteen's "My Hometown".

My own "hometown" has been done better than I could ever do it. (Atlanta) It's funny...I don't really feel as if I have a hometown anymore. Been away so long, living in various states and countries.

24. interesting takes on the theme
some iconic, some quirky..........lots of variety, which I like. Some of the towns are named, and others one is left to wonder. Pretty cool contest.

Excellent composition in the Old Waterfront Dock, Mz Pip.

It was difficult to decide what to enter but decided on this one because our waterfront is a never ending source of controversy around here. I should post a picture that shows the eastern landsacpe. Not appealing at all.
