1. I'd love to see
This posted in GD, LOL, I'll make the popcorn.

That said, I'm glad I wasn't sipping my latte when I opened it.

2. That was one of those images I would have kicked myself
for not taking. Sure, there could be some ethical issues, but street photography is about capturing life around you. I have another image that might be controversial, but again, I captured life around me. I will be posting images from the Roots and Heritage Festival a bit later, then still later I will post images from the Moon Festival. There's a lot of images and some impossibly cute kids. Those images will come after I recover a bit from a very long day with my camera.

3. If I saw this image
You better believe I would have shot it, it's exactly what street photography is all about.

My comment really had less to do with any ethical issues of the photo but more with a frustrating level of knee-jerkiness and PC in GD.

to the Subject line?

I'm a free will kinda guy.

The funny thing is that the same people whose heads would explode over this shot wouldn't have an issue with the latest shot of Rick Perry with a corndog in front of a fresco.

6. Alfredo, I must admit
that since I live in the South, and troll the streets with my camera, it was a pretty regular sight for me and it took me a while to even catch the hubbub. Such as it is (BTW- very good portrait all the way around)

I would not dare you, but if you post it, say nothing that indicates how you feel about it yourself.
Just my 2 cents, which is not much.

7. A simple "No Comment" or a "I report, you decide" will do
as the subject line.

10. That couldn't have been any more predictable.
If only it was a shot of Bachmann leaning on that can, hero status would have been accorded.

11. They weren't satisfied with their own response, they wanted
to know my point.

I have used it to show the nature of street photography, and art in general. (the only meaning is what is attached by the viewer)

15. While you were taking a nap, I went swimming at the Y. Came back and I see
the photo got between the dog and the fire hydrant in GD and you handled it beautifully. It is and remains a perfect street photo, and needed to be taken and shown.

If nobody had reacted, then I would have failed.

18. I like that you did it.
Well, once anyways.:-)

But the thing we have to remember when posting to GD, or on the net in general, is that the audience isn't self selected to be receptive to our work as it would be if displayed in a gallery or book. As soon as you posted the photo here in the photo forum I was ready to grab some popcorn.

20. Their reaction is their own. Posting it twice was confusion
on my part. During my nap it was deleted, and didn't show in MY DU. In my post nap state I thought I forgot to post it, so I posted it.

It was an interesting discussion, I'm sorry they deleted it.

I think this one is more controversial.

Those who create art, or aspire to create art, should always tell the truth.

to her being OK.

Backstory? Not sure, but kids get sick.
