1. Rehearsal?
what are you rehearsing for?

Pretty cool that you get to be there rehearsing. what I remember most about Versailles was Marie Antoinette's little farm where she played at being a peasant.

I didn't get to see as much of Versailles because much of it was closed off in preparation of Ronnie Reagan's visit. They were dragging the ponds for bombs.

4. Yes.....
for a 17th century French opera by Lully. It's being performed in the magnificent theater that was a wedding gift for Marie Antoinette ! :wow:

Speaking of St. Ray-Gun, I think you must have been there during the G-8 summit. The musical director of this Lully production conducted a performance of a Charpentier opera for all of those heads of state in this same theater. After the show the Gipper and Nancy came to greet him. I heard this story from the conductor himself. Ray-gun said to him, "Mur-see, mur-see boe-koo!" Nancy said to Bonzo, "Ron, you don't have to speak French, he's an American! That's the boy who directed the operetta!" :eyes:

3. I love 'traveling' to your world
You are so fortunate to combine photography with something you obviously equally enjoy. I'll never 'see' this place so I'm glad you can show it. (I got a chuckle out of photo #5)

Thanks
:hi:

5. The costumes are exquisite!
The fifth photo looks like a snapshot of long-ago times.

And . . . your Ronnie/Nancy story!
