they had to move the fireworks away from the iconic buildings due to some last minute change in state fire codes

1. Oh, yeah, that kind of blows,

but at least you can SEE your fireworks on the Fourth of July. Ours kind of disappear into the blue sky.

We have our big fireworks displays at the State Fair in September (when it still isn't completely dark at 10:00 p.m., but close enough), on New Year's Eve and on the first night of Fur Rendezvous in late February.

2008 we had 10 major firework displays, this year 2

just had two 50+ year restaurants close this week and several 20+ year restaurants close.... tourism economy? ha!

4. They legalized fireworks here, so it has been like a warzone.

It has slacked off, but we still get startled out of sleep at 2AM by some asshole.
