Macro practice. Marbles in a souffle pot.
Edited on Fri Jul-01-11 11:08 PM by alfredo
I guess I will either have to make our buy a light box if I decide to do macro still life. I've had some of these marbles for up to sixty years. Some of them belonged to my mom.

3. I made a cheap light box
out of a big, clear rubbermaid container. Set it on it's side and attach velcro at the top back (which is actually the bottom of the container). Attach some velcro to poster board and attach it to the back. Put lights on each side and/or clip one to the front. Easy and cheap. I use fabric draped across the box to control the light.

Nice marbles!

Oh, just found an LL Bean box. It even has it marked off where I want to cut. I can fill the gaps with some White tissue.

6. Your images reminded me of an experiment a while back
I took these images using my scanner. Covered the marbles with a black cloth let the scanner do the rest.
