This is the world renowned Ravel (pronounced Ravelle) and his proud owner, Akiko Yamazaki.

1. though all these are wonderful
Just had to comment on the woman's face which is so perfectly framed by the neck and head of the horse. That one is really something!

Thanks for posting all your horse show photos.

3. Thanks for taking the time to comment Celebration!
Here is the original shot (already cropped some) -- I always look for pictures inside of pictures, especially when I can't get close enough to shoot what I really want. The trade-off is the graininess but I like to work with that too -- I like the painterly look.

I enjoy posting my horse photos (because they are different what most people here see) and getting feedback. Thanks again!

9. I don't know which one I like best.
The owner's beautiful and loving face or the picture of all of their faces. You really captured a special moment Elfin Yeti.

4. Me neither (the magnificent horses part)!
Edited on Mon May-16-11 02:28 PM by Elfin Yeti
Once I pick up my camera I just can't stop shooting (I know you all know what that's like!)-- these horses and riders amaze me and I am constantly discovering something new when I download my photos. It isn't always pretty (as in the case of the head-tossing horse), but it's all part of the reality which I try to capture. I spend most of my time with my camera up to my face, constantly tracking so I can hopefully catch something I would otherwise miss. The left side of my nose takes a beating!

8. These are wonderful, and thanks
for showing us the before/after shot of your first photo. Many times I forget to crop, or just don't crop enough which would result in a totally different perspective and many times a much better photo.

The riding suit of on the bottom photo is exquisite. My eye goes down her back, her arm to the braided mane, so I'm getting the full impact of the photo, but is small wonderful stage.
