Kind of excited. Photojournalist Bill Eppridge is having a...
private show this sunday and his wife (she is in my wife's pilates class of all weird things) invited us to the show and to meet her husband. Hey, I might actually learn something. If you are not familiar with him he is probably most famous for his time with Bobby Kennedy but he has done everything. He was also a staff photographer for Life.

1. NEAT! The timing for you couldn't be better, since you have recently
had such a wonderful upsurge of enthusiasm about your own photography.
Please report!

3. Every day I learn of more mistakes, or should I say bad habits.
One thing I have gotten into the habit of is not considering the framing (Bad, bad) when I am taking the shot because cropping is so easy with the software. What I realized is that by cropping I dramatically drop the overall MB size of the photo causing me to lose clarity. I was reading about stock photography and realized a lot of my shots are undersized. I didn't do that years ago when I shot film through my FE-2. Just got lazy. No more.
Now to work on getting some shots for the contest this weekend.

4. Went to the private reception and showing with Bill Eppridge today and..
what an inspiring person he is. It amazes me that he has documented almost every major event in my time from the civil rights movement to Woodstock, covering Bobby Kennedy's presidential campaign and assassination and more. A college student from Nepal went with us and she wanted to sit down and speak with him. He was very gracious and when she asked him what he thought about film versus digital his eyes light up and he said that it doesn't matter. What matters is the eye. He was also very funny and was saying that with the new digital cameras he could carry them again as he is quite old now and his old equipment was too heavy to carry.
This link will provide some more information about his work or just google his name.
