Has anybody heard from RagingInMiami?
Didn't they take a pretty good hit from Wilma?

1. Too lazy to search..... and I'm not a "snoopin" kinda guy
But yea... he's been on my mind of late. Hopefully it's nothing more than another power outage thingee which I understand is pretty massive down there. Maybe we should all chip in and buy Ragin' one of those wireless Strawberry thingees.

2. I would give him some time
since more than likely he is with out power.

Oh and Blue. I didn't forget to originally put your name on the poll in the first round, it just went away. Only know that now because it took 5 tries before yours stayed in the poll this time. Three after previewing then two more tries to get it to stay put. And here I just thought I had lost my mind the first time.

4. Well actually it was when I began
to think it was going to keep disappearing. Moved that poor Glacier around a few times to find where it wanted to be.

6. I'm worried about him too.
I came in here today to post this very thread. But I agree he's probably ok, just without power. Still, if I were him, I'd move and change my name to RagingInAnyplaceThatDoesn'tHaveHurricanes. What a year he's been through so far!

7. He's probably out getting us shots of the damage right now.
There are many places still without power, so he could just be offline right now.

I'm sure he'll be fine.

8. I am going to think positive and
go with Touchdown that he is out getting some great photos. Hoping he gets electric and checks in as soon as he does though. Looking at the news it may take a while to get electric to everyone.

Sigh of relief.
Not sure if he has time to search for this thread while at Kinkos and wanted to be sure you saw his.

10. I'm here
Sitting at a Kinko's because I have no power. Been sitting in the dark since the hurricane. It's pretty chaotic down here.

Long gas lines when you can find a station that actually has gas or power, long lines to get ice and water from FEMA, which screwed up big time because they forgot to fill their trucks with gas before the hurricane so they were unable to distribute anything for several days.

People are really pissed off about it. But it could always be worse.

11. The long lines and all
have been on the news of course but somehow I missed the FEMA trucks with no gas. Really hoping you get power back soon cause I know it sucks to live with out it for any amount of time. Are you in closer to a major metro area? Have a feeling they will get power back faster.

12. I'm in the heart of Miami but I have yet to see a Florida Power and Light
truck in my neighborhood.

13. That isn't a good sign.

I think last I heard they said they got power back to 2 million of the six million with out it. It really does sound over whelming down there just in numbers. Sending you lots of
If you need anything ask. There are a lot of us here for you and would be happy to help. Though not sure ice would make it through the mail.
You are always welcome to vent should you need to.

15. That glacier would be nice considering how rare a commodity ice
has been this last week. I'm still without power but things are slowly getting back to normal down here. Now, only about 25 percent of the county is without power compared to 95 percent after the hurricane.

But it's been a week and people are wondering why it's taken so long.

Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties were all under 8 pm curfews last week. Now the curfew has been lifted to midnight. Once I get power, I will post some photos I took during the hurricane and after the hurricane, as well as the ones I took after Katrina.

I will do another slideshow.

The weather has really been nice down here since the hurricane, breezy and about 60 degrees at night, 70 during the day, so having no power is not that brutal.

After Katrina, it was 90 degrees with no breeze. That really sucked.

So now I'm in a barnes and noble, which is a little better than kinkos, but they have no electrical outlet for my laptop.

16. I'm glad to hear from you, Raging.
Hope you don't mind, I put your name up in the Wilma survivors check-in thread, just in case anyone was wondering where you were. Another mod, geoman666, also lives in Miami and is also still without power. He checked in from his parents' house in an outlying area.

Good luck on getting the power back soon! Can't wait to see your hurricane photos.

17. Hi Intheflow
I'm still without power. It's fucking ridiculous. Ten days after the hurricane and not one sign of a Florida Power and Light truck in my neighborhood. They're saying I might be out until Nov. 10th.

The local radio station (which is all I have when I'm at home) came out with a song saying "FPL blows harder than any hurricane." One must keep a sense of humor during these trying times.

I'm glad I have a wireless-configured laptop or else I would really be out of touch.
