1. Looks like a salvia
or sage, which is a salvia. Rub the leaves and see if they have a slight peppery smell.

2. I don't think so
the leaves are gray like the flowerets and very velvety. I googled Salvia images, and nothing resembled it.

4. Very unusual and pretty!
I sure don't know what it might be. You might try a wildflower id site like this one:

6. I'm not sure that it's a wildflower
It's in a city park (planted area). Here are some more close-ups.

12. Just because it's planted...
doesn't mean it isn't a wildflower. It just hasn't been bred to be anything other than it is.

could it be lambs ear?

From google

Looks like it. Not used to seeing it in bloom.

13. Glad I could help.
One of the few that I had a chance on. A lot of people grow it here, mostly for the leaves. I don't know that I have ever noticed it in bloom. Wondering if many around here trim the buds before they bloom.

14. Yeah, thanks again for your help
The flowers aren't aren't much, but the leaves are incredible. I'd never seen it before, but I fell in love with it when I first saw it.

15. It can become pesky and, at some point, you may have to
thin it out.

9. Good catch, CC!
There are so many varieties of flowers and vegetation out there, some I would never guess were related to one another.

:hi:
