need bird ID help please

I need several, actually, as looking in the book only works about 1/2 the time for me, but this is the one that I am really curious about. It's a pretty big bird, about the size of a duck almost.

1. Green heron?

I'm no expert either but flipping through the book I found something similar and google returned this picture http://10000birds.com/why-birds.htm
It looks the same bird to me.

If I ever have seen one, I sure haven't noticed it. But it is on the bird list as having been sighted there. I saw it land in the tree, but not really the flight. Now I know (from here) that herons have a crooked neck when they fly. But, I just didn't really see it in flight.
