Lens purchase advice needed.

Here's me again...the stupiehead about camera equipment and here's my husband having another birthday this month.

When I bought his Canon S5 I'm pretty sure I ordered the lens adapter kit with it. It appears from the Canon site there are two additional lenses available to fit it:

Amazon has the first one for $99.95 right now and the second for $154.

I don't know what each of them would really do for him, and hence, which would be the best one to get. If you wouldn't mind, can you tell me which of these would you purchase and why?

1. I'd go with the Wide Converter WC-DC58A

According to Canon specs, he already has the 35mm equivalent of 36-432mm. That's plenty at the long end. The wide converter extends his range down to 27mm at the short end. If you are only going to choose one lens, that would be the more useful addition for day to day applications.
