Some Autumn pics from the Napa Valley
I borrowed a 5 MG point and shoot from a friend.

And the requisite black and white for JeffR.

1. Thank you
That's beautiful! Glad you could get out there taking some pictures while everything looks so wonderful. It's one of my favorite parts of the country.

Have to say the last one is not my fave. ;)

Hope you can talk your friend into using the camera for a bit.

2. Considering that I am really not a happy camper right now
(dreading tomorrow, my pacifist self cannot bear the impending war escalation)

you and Celebration provided me with needed laughs. You about the b/w for JeffR, and she about the not liking that very photo.... I think I'm a bit punchy for the reasons I already explained.

I agree with Celebration about the b/w. It serves its purpose and JeffR better be happy.
On the other hand it makes me want to come out West again. I have a friend in Mendocino who has invited me...... I have never seen the really really huge trees in person.

It's called "Wanderlust" and it just keeps biting me.
Your photos are "wonderful".

6. Give me a shout if your wanderlust brings you into wine country.

7. You must be sure what you ask for, there are plenty of friends of mine who will
tell you that you might just get that shout.

3. That first shot looks like it might be off of The Trail up toward Glass Mountain.

5. It is toward Glass Mountain
but off Hwy 29. It's taken from the atio of one of my client's houses. It's for sale if anyone is interested. A cool $4.something or other mil.

4. Lovely, and thank you.
And just to prove I'm not color-phobic, I think I like the second one best. The way the amorphous gold resolves itself into patterns in the distance is very satisfying viewing. While the same thing happens in the first shot, there are other things going on that draw my attention away. Keep in mind, of course, that I have the attention span of a gnat.
